Our Honest Review

Orchids The International School on Panathur Road has quickly become a favorite among parents in Bangalore. With branches almost everywhere, Orchids is one of India’s fastest-growing school chains, now with over 90 campuses across the country.

The best part? No matter which branch you pick, your child gets the same caring environment and high-quality education.

The Panathur campus is a peaceful and green spot right in the middle of the busy IT hub. Spread over 2 acres, it’s a calm and welcoming place where kids can focus on learning and having fun.

Safety is a big deal here, with female security guards and a friendly staff making sure children feel secure and parents feel reassured.

What makes Orchids stand out is how they make learning fun and exciting. Kids don’t just sit in classrooms—they explore and discover new things every day. The robotics lab is a huge favorite among students. Their Orchids Career Foundation Program (OCFP) also helps kids prepare early for competitive exams, giving them a head start. On weekends, children get to enjoy hobbies like music, dance, and sports, which are part of the regular schedule.

And here’s something cool—they even teach kids about money! Topics like stocks, shares, and even Bitcoin are explained in a way kids can understand and enjoy.

Building confidence is a priority at Orchids, starting right from nursery. Little ones are encouraged to speak in front of others, which helps them become self-assured as they grow. Creativity is also given a lot of importance, with fun activities like dance, theater, music, and art allowing kids to express themselves freely.

Sports are another highlight. With expert coaches, kids get the guidance they need to excel in their favorite games, all while learning teamwork and staying active.

Orchids also give children a chance to explore the world. Recently, students from the Panathur campus took part in a science program in Japan, where they got to meet and learn with kids from 11 different countries.

At Orchids, it’s not just about books and exams. It’s about helping kids grow into confident, creative, and well-rounded individuals. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the playground, or even on an international stage, this is a school where kids can truly shine.

Orchids The International School stands out because of its unique mix of traditional education and innovative, future-ready learning methods. It’s not just any school—it fits into both what we call a Mainstream School and a New-Age School. Here’s what we mean

Firstly,

What is a Mainstream School?

A mainstream school is what most of us think of as a “regular school.” It focuses on teaching kids the basics like math, science, and history. The goal is to give children a well-rounded education and a strong foundation for their future.

Why is Orchids a Mainstream School?

  • Welcoming to All: Orchids is open to every child, including those with special needs, making sure everyone feels supported and included.
  • Fun Activities: Kids can try out sports, music, art, and clubs to explore what they love.

  • Focus on Growth: Orchids helps kids learn and grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.
  • Safe and Caring: It’s a place where kids feel safe, happy, and free to be themselves.

Now, the second one.

What is a New-Age School?

A New-Age School focuses on preparing kids for the future using modern methods. It’s all about technology, personalized learning, and teaching skills like teamwork and problem-solving.

Why is Orchids a New-Age School?

  • Tech in Learning: With smart classrooms and lessons on AI and robotics, kids are learning skills for the future.
  • Building Important Skills: The school helps kids improve their thinking, speaking, and leadership skills.
  • Personalized Lessons: Since everyone learns differently, the school adjusts lessons to fit each child’s needs.

  • DIY Lab: From pottery to 3D printing, kids get to be creative and try out new ideas.
  • Learning About Nature: The school’s gardening program teaches kids how to care for the environment.

Why this School?

When choosing a school for your child, it’s important to take a close look at what makes it unique. That’s exactly what we did at Orchids The International School.

After chatting with the school staff and exploring the campus, we gathered a few key insights. These are just our observations, but they really show what the school has to offer.

USP #1: Premium Lab Facilities!

The Orchids Panathur branch in Bangalore stands out for its premium lab facilities, designed to offer students hands-on learning experiences that go beyond textbooks.

With specialized labs, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Robotics, AI, and even Music and Dance studios, students have the opportunity to explore their interests and learn through hands-on experiences.

Whether it’s building robots, experimenting with science, or creating art, these well-equipped labs provide a creative and safe environment where students can discover, experiment, and grow.

USP #2: Students Turning Waste into Purpose

At Orchids Panathur, sustainability isn’t just a lesson—it’s something students get to do themselves.

They take old papers and recycle them into handmade paper, using special machines provided by the school. The entire process, from shredding to drying and testing, is guided by teachers, but the students lead the way.
This hands-on project teaches them about caring for the environment and gives them a chance to think creatively about how they can make a difference in the world, all while turning waste into something useful.

USP #3: A Stage for Creativity and Expression

The Ampy Theater at Orchids Panathur isn’t your typical auditorium. It’s a vibrant, interactive space where students can truly express themselves.

Whether it’s for drama, performances, or presentations, this unique theater encourages kids to explore their creativity in a way that feels exciting and fresh.

It’s not just about watching, it’s about participating, building confidence, and showcasing talents in a fun and engaging environment.

USP #4: Learning Beyond Books

At Orchids, learning isn’t just about what’s in the textbooks—it’s about discovering passions and exploring new things.

One of the highlights is the DIY Lab, where kids can get creative, working with materials like wood to bring their ideas to life. The school also has special spaces for horticulture, gardening, dance, and music, letting students dive into what excites them and try something new.

The horticulture program helps kids connect with nature. They learn how to care for plants, understand the science behind them, and truly appreciate the environment—while getting their hands dirty in the process!

Every Saturday, students can explore their hobbies in the Hobby Classes, whether it’s dance, music, or another interest they love. And the Saturday Club takes learning to another level, offering cool activities like photography, videography, and theater, where kids get to write scripts, shoot videos, and edit them—all part of the fun!

For physical development, Orchids offers a Unique Sports Arena with activities like wall climbing, rope courses, and hanging challenges, specially designed for younger students. It’s all about building strength and confidence while having fun.

The school also collaborates with sports legends like Bhaichung Bhutia for football, international speed skating sensation Anoli Shah, and Vikas Dwivedi for chess, offering world-class training that helps students reach their full potential. Orchids is truly a place where kids thrive in every way—academically, creatively, and athletically!

USP #5: Introducing financial literacy—yes, for kids!

This was such a refreshing addition.

The school offers financial literacy classes where kids learn about markets, stocks, profits, and how the economy works—all explained in a way they can understand. It’s impressive to see children gaining this kind of real-world knowledge early on.

Many parents love this feature because it helps kids develop clarity about future career options as they grow.

USP #6: Building confidence through public speaking.

Public speaking is a skill that’s often overlooked, but not here.

Starting from a young age, students participate in debates, speeches, and presentations. It’s incredible to see how this helps them grow into confident individuals who can communicate their ideas clearly—a skill that’s invaluable for life.

USP #7: A weekly class for life lessons.

The school also hosts Soch sessions every week.

These are counseling classes where kids openly discuss important topics like screen time, behavior issues, and understanding good touch vs. bad touch. It’s a safe space where children can talk, learn, and navigate challenges they face in today’s world.

USP #8: Preparing for competitive exams—right in school.

Orchids has a program called the Orchids Career Foundation Program (OCFP), where they hire IITians to train students for competitive exams. What’s great is that this happens during school hours, so there’s no additional pressure

We also noticed that the school’s regular teaching staff is all female, creating a nurturing and secure environment. The only male faculty members are part of the OCFP team, which many parents feel adds an extra layer of trust.

USP #9: Learning languages the smart way.

Their Trilingual approach is another standout feature.

Here, students learn three languages simultaneously, writing each sentence in multiple languages. For example, in Bangalore, they learn English, Hindi, and Kannada, while in Mumbai, it’s English, Hindi, and Marathi.

Two teachers teach the same lesson in different languages, making it easier for kids to understand and adapt. It’s a brilliant way to help kids stay connected to their roots while mastering other languages.

USP #10: Focus on progress, not perfection.

The school’s “no eraser, no scale” policy really caught our attention. It’s such a simple yet powerful idea—letting kids focus on learning and improving without worrying about making everything perfect.

Our Verdict

At CandidSchools, we help parents find the right school for their kids. Our experience with Orchids The International School, Panathur, has been really positive, and here’s why.

The school stands out with its state-of-the-art labs and hands-on projects like recycling old paper into handmade paper. Students lead the process, guided by teachers, making learning fun and meaningful.

Orchids goes beyond academics with activities like music, dance, theater, and coding, giving kids plenty of opportunities to explore their interests. The principal is approachable, and the teachers are always supportive, creating a nurturing environment.

We also love their innovative programs like the Saturday Club, Horticulture Lab, Financial Literacy, and Public Speaking, which help kids grow holistically. Plus, their fees are transparent and easy to access online.

Every child is unique, so we recommend visiting the school to see if it’s the right fit for your family. Nothing beats experiencing it firsthand!

The school is also open about its fees, which are easy to find on the website. Still, we suggest parents think about their child’s needs and family budget before making a decision.

This is our experience, but we recommend visiting the school yourself to get a feel for it. Don’t just trust reviews—see it in person before deciding.
