1.  Basic List of Materials

  • Drawing Paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener
  • Crayons or Colored Pencils
  • Stable Drawing Surface

2. Step-by-Step guide to draw a Cute Doll

Step 1 – Draw the face of the doll

Take a plane drawing sheet and a pencil and draw a small circle. You can also take something circular in shape, for example, take the cap of a bottle to draw a neat circle.

Step 2- Draw hair, eyes, lips and ears

To draw doll hairs, take a small portion from a circle and draw a zig-zag line.

For ears, take one side of the circle and make a small half circle just from the circle outline, and with that, make the same on the other side, and it should be in the line.

To make eyes, make two circles a small distance apart and then make eyelashes by making 4-5 small straight lines above both eyes.

And for the lips, make a C shape in an upward direction. You can refer to the image as this may feel a bit confusing.

Step 3- Draw a ponytail and doll dress

To draw a ponytail, take a small curved line from one end of the ear and from that end, draw another curved line and close it just a little above the ear. This may look like a mango attached to the side of the head. Do the same on the other side.

Now, to make a dress for the doll, from the chin mark two points and make two lines, the line should not be completely straight but should be slightly slant. After making two lines join the two lines by a less curved line.

This dress may look like a triangle, which has a circle on the top instead of a corner.

Step 4- Draw arms and legs

To make arms, from the top of the dress outline, make a straight line and from a little distance, make another small straight line and join the two lines by drawing a C shape. Do the same on the other side. This will give you two hands of a doll.

To make legs draw, three straight lines in the center of the doll’s dress and join each of them, by drawing a C shape in upward direction.

Step 5- Draw socks

Step 6- Add colors

Now it’s time for you to add color to your cute doll. For the face, ears, arms and legs, add skin color. For hair, you can either go for black or brown.

Fill the eyes with black color. And after that color, your doll dress and socks in any bright color you want.

Final Touches

Erase all the extra lines that you might have made while you are drawing. Add a hairband to doll hairs. Now take a step back and see how your doll is looking.

Additionally, what you can do

  • After your drawing is completed with a pencil, use a black sketch pen to make it look more beautiful.
  • You can go for different hair, if you want your doll’s hair to be short, make it short.
  • You can also make the nose of your doll just the way you want.
  • You can also add some earrings to doll ears.
  • You can also go for color mixing if you want to make your doll dress colorful.

Conclusion
