1.  Basic List of Materials

  • Drawing paper
  • Pencil
  • Sharpener
  • Eraser
  • Coloured pencils or Crayons
  • Black sketch pen
  • Stable base of support/ Drawing board

2. Step-by-Step Guide to Draw a Fox

Step 1: Draw a Fox Body

  • Draw the Body:
    • Start by drawing a triangle to represent the body of the fox.
  • Sketch the Face:
    • Above the triangle, draw a circle to represent the face of the fox.
    • Connect the circle and the triangle with a straight line to form the neck

Step 2: Draw Ears and Legs

  • Draw the Ears:
    • On top of the head circle, draw two ovals for the fox’s ears.
  • Add Details to the Face:
    • Inside the triangle formed by the ears and the bottom of the head circle, draw two more ovals: one horizontal and one vertical. These will add detail to the fox’s facial features.
  • Sketch the Legs:
    • Draw four small ovals at the bottom of the triangle to represent the fox’s legs.
    • Connect these circles to the ovals to complete the legs.

Step 3: Completing the Fox Body Parts

  • Draw the Nose and Eyes:
    • At the bottom of the head circle, draw a heart shape for the fox’s nose. Connect it to the circle with lines for better definition.
    • Add two small circles for the eyes.
  • Shape the Face:
    • Draw a curved line at the bottom of the head circle to define the fox’s face.
    • Connect this curve to the nose in a heart shape to complete the fox’s facial features. You can refer to the picture.
  • Create the Tail:
    • Draw an oval shape diagonally and connect it to the two ovals representing the fox’s body.
    • Erase the outer part of the triangle and the horizontal oval shape to refine the fox’s body shape.

Step 4: Draw ears

  • Erase the Straight Line: Remove the straight line that was initially drawn.
  • Modify the Ears: Erase half of the oval shape for each ear to create a half-oval shape.
  • Create Mountain-like Shape: Draw a curved shape resembling a mountain, connecting it to the fox’s face downward. This forms the fox’s muzzle.
  • Draw Paws: In the middle of the fox’s body, you’ll find four circles representing its legs. In those two circles, draw two lines to represent the paws.
  • Shape the Tail: Curve the tail slightly along the oval shape, as shown in the picture, to give it a natural and flowing appearance.
  • These adjustments will add depth and detail to your fox drawing, bringing it to life!

Step 5: Creating Fox Paws

  • Draw Eyebrows: Above each eye circle, sketch curved lines to form the eyebrows.
  • Add Eye Highlights: Inside each eye circle, draw small ovals near the top to represent highlights, adding a lively look to the eyes.

Sketch Ears: On the sides of the head, aligned with the eyes, draw small curved lines to represent the ears.

Step 6: Adding Colours

Give your fox drawing some life by using warm colours for its fur, bright ones for its eyes, and dark ones for its nose.

Final Touches

Once you’re done colouring your fox, check if there are any extra lines or marks left and erase them gently. To make your drawing even cooler, think about adding a jungle background. This will make your fox look more like it’s really in the wild.

Additionally, what you can do

  • Begin with simple exercises like drawing straight lines and curves to loosen up your hand.
  • Use various curves and shapes to make your fox look more realistic and natural.
  • Add a jungle or snowy background to give your fox drawing a wild and immersive feel.
  • Experiment with shading and different drawing techniques to enhance your fox drawing and find your preferred style.
