1.  Basic List of Materials

Here is a list of materials you need for drawing and coloring the beautiful Peacock:

  • Drawing Paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener
  • Crayons or Colored Pencils
  • Stable Drawing Surface

2. Step-by-Step Guide for Drawing Peacock

We’ll guide you through each step of drawing a peacock. Let your kids have fun creating a beautiful Peacock drawing with various color combinations.

Step 1: Start with the Peacock Body and Head

Start drawing your peacock by making a square with curved edges for the head. For the neck, start by drawing two lines from the bottom part of the head and extend the neck into an oval shape for the body. You can refer to the picture for reference.

Step 2: Now it’s turn for Beak, Tail and legs

After that, draw a triangle shape in front of the peacock’s face for its beak. Then, draw another triangle shape at the back of the peacock’s body for its tail. On top of the head, add three small circles for the crest, ensuring they are spaced apart from the head. Lastly, draw two half-circles for its legs. You can look at the picture for reference.

Step 3: Adding Details to Peacock Drawing

Next, connect the head to each circle with two straight lines, this will form a crest and then draw two small horizontal rectangles on each leg.

For the feathers, draw two straight lines on each side of the triangular tail and join them with a curve and add a straight line in between feathers. Then, add a wing in the center of the peacock’s body, resembling a water droplet. You can refer to the picture for guidance.

Step 4: Adding Feet, Eyes and Feathers

Now, draw the feet by creating a horizontal rectangular box shape. For the eyes, draw small dark circles with a hint of white space to resemble the peacock’s eyes.

Next, add some additional feathers between the two we previously drew. Three feathers should be on the tip of the tail, as depicted in the picture. Additionally, draw one beside the right feather. These details will enhance the realism and charm of the peacock.

Step 5: Final Touches: Completing the Feathers and Eyes

To complete the peacock’s appearance, add a half-oval curve near its eyes. Then, to enhance the realism of the feathers, place an oval shape between each circle, and add a semi-circle above each circle. Repeat this for every feather, ensuring they are connected by the line between each feather. Referring to the picture will help clarify this step, as it can be a bit confusing.

Step 6: Finally let’s give Colors

Now, bring your peacock to life with dark green for its face and wings, yellow for its tail and beak, and brown for its legs. Add contrasting colors to the feathers, as demonstrated in the picture, to make your drawing even more vibrant and attractive.

Final Touches

As you work on your peacock drawing, be sure to watch out for any extra lines or marks that don’t belong. Take your eraser and gently remove them. This careful clean-up helps keep your drawing looking neat and tidy. For the final touches, you can add some trees in the background or draw a muddy surface to make it look more realistic.
