2.Step-by-Step Guide to Draw a Monkey
Step 1 Draw the Head
Begin with a shape that resembles an oval as shown in the picture, this will be the head of a monkey. There’s no need to draw a perfect shape, you can vary head size according to your choice.
Step 2: Draw the body and ears
Now, draw one more oval shape face in the previous oval shape as we did in step 1. Now, connect the head to the body with a large U-shape line. Monkeys come in all shapes and sizes, so don’t be afraid to change the shape a bit! Then add two smaller semi-circles towards the side of the head to indicate its ears.
Remember, monkeys have great listening skills, so make those ears stand out!
Step 3: Draw the Limbs
Let’s start with those arms first. Draw two long, curved lines which will look like a pipe with rounded edges extending from both sides of the body – these will be our monkey’s arms for swinging!
For the legs, draw two shorter, thicker lines extending from the bottom of the body and make a semi circle at the end as shown in the picture this will be the foot of the monkey. Monkeys are experts at both climbing and swinging from tree to tree, so make those legs look strong!
Step 4 : Draw the Eyes, Nose, Mouth, and Tail
Add two big circles for the eyes. Beneath the eyes, draw a small, rounded oval for the nose. Complete the facial features with a simple curved line for the mouth which will be below the nose. Is it smiling sweetly or mischievously? You decide!
Next, don’t forget the tail. For this you can draw a long line extending from the backside of the monkey which will look like a small wave – this is its trusty tool for balance and mischief!
Now outline the entire monkey with a black sketch pen or dark pencil. This will help you to get a better idea how your drawing looks and will act as a boundary when you will color it.
Final Touches
Now, you can color your monkey, like we have used brown shades you can use black also or can even use both the colors.
Give your monkey some personality by adding a few extra details – maybe some fur texture or a cool pattern on its belly. You can also paint or color your art to your liking. Get as creative as you can. Erase any stray lines and refine your masterpiece. Remember, art is all about imagination and making it work for you! There you have it.
You’ve now drawn an adorable monkey!
