2.Step-by-Step Guide to Draw a Lion
Step1: Draw the outline of the lion’s head
Let’s start by drawing a circle on the page. Make sure this circle is placed on the top left corner of the page and not in the center. You can use a compass or any other round object to draw a circle ( Don’t worry, even the best artists can’t draw a circle perfectly).
Step 2: Give the lion a body
Next, let’s outline the lion’s face within the head. Draw a rough round shape and make the bottom flatter. Now draw another pocket-shaped line coming out towards the bottom of the head. This will be the lion’s body. You can refer to the picture given.
Step 3: Draw the face and body
Let’s give our mighty lion more details. We’ll start with the face, draw an oval shape at the bottom of the face marking the lion’s mouth. Now draw nice big bold dots for eyes above the mouth. As shown in the picture.
Next, we’ll give the lion ears by drawing two semi-circles over the face on either side.
Let’s move down to the body now. Draw a banana-shaped leg in the front half of the body. Draw another one towards the end of the body by drawing a circle with paws at the bottom.
Step 4: Draw more details
Give the lion a tail coming out from behind the body. Draw a big water-drop like shape at the end of the tail. Now let’s draw another leg at the front of the body similar to the previous one we drew.
Once you’re done with that, move to the face and give it more details. Draw a nose right above the mouth with a sharp inverted ‘U’ shape. Draw an upside down triangle at the bottom of the nose and shade it fully with your pencil.
To make the ears look more realistic, let’s draw a small circle inside both ears.
Step 5: Outlining
Go over your drawing, erasing any unnecessary lines and refining any details. Make the lines bolder and darker!
And voila! Our lion is now complete.
Final Touches
Don’t forget to add a splash of color to bring your lion to life! You can color your lion using crayons, colored pencils, or markers. Get creative with patterns and colors your lion can be any color you imagine!
Done! Now take a step back and admire your artwork.
