2. A Step-by-Step Guide to Draw a Rose
Step 1: Draw outline for Rose
Take your drawing sheet and pencil and draw a circle at the centre of the sheet.
Now, draw a triangle above the circle. After this, erase the top corner of the triangle and join the ends of the line by making a curved line.
Step 2: Make two petals
Now, take the centre of the circle, and from that point, draw one big leaf going outwards and one small leaf.
Erase the rest of the portion of the circle, and join the curved line of the triangle with the small leaf.

Step 3: Draw two curved lines
Draw two inverted C shapes on the side of the curved lines of the triangle.
Step 4: Draw a Heart lines
Now, from one side, Draw a curved line(looks like the loose letter S). and make a pointed V at the end of the line, and take the line up to the starting point of the heart line.( imagine you are making a long and thin leaf)
The big leaf that you have drawn in Step 2. Draw a curved line from there and join it a little above the line that you have made opposite to it.
(This should like heart, that has double border)

Step 5: Draw curved line
Now, make curved lines in the centre part of the rose. Above these lines, draw a raindrop.
You can refer to the image if you are having any doubts.
Step 6: Draw a petal
Now, draw a triangle( only two lines) on one side of the rose.Make the lines of the triangle a little curve.
Step 7: Draw a stem and leaves
From the flat part of a rose, make two straight lines, and join them at the end.
Now, make three thin leaves from the flat surface of the rose. You can also draw three triangles first, and after that, erase the top end and join them by making a curved line.
Step 8: Add colours
The last step is to add colours to the rose which you have made. Add red colour, to the rose and green colour, to the stem and leaves.
Final Touches
Colour the boundary of the rose a bit darker to make your rose look attractive. In the centre of the petals and leaves add silver or golden glitters.Outline the rose petals which are inside using black sketch pen. At the end you can give your rose drawing a border.
(You can give any colour to your rose. It can be yellow, pink or any other colour that you want.)
Additionally, what you can do
- Trace the rose using a black sketch pen to make your drawing look more attractive.
- You can make a bunch of roses following the same steps and add different colours to each rose.
- Instead of colouring your rose, you can do pencil shading.
- To make your drawing look more creative, make a garden of roses.
